Message from our President Camilla Cabaniss
tool box is never really complete. Whenever a new project is started at our house,
we always seem to have to make a trip to the hardware store. The collection of
tools continues to grow. Sometimes the new tools don’t work as well as
the familiar ones. We have to be patient and sometimes read the directions to
learn how to use the new tool correctly.
your toolbox is also fun. Neighbors and friends ask to borrow a tool. Sometimes they are not quite sure what tool they need and a discussion of the project solves the problem
and gets the job done.
tools can be used for many jobs and some tools are used for very specific tasks. Some
tools are large and some are very, very small, but the jobs cannot be completed without them.
Federation is very much like a toolbox. It is never really complete. There are always new members to mix with the members of experience.
There are new projects and programs that need that one little tap to make it just right. The “old faithful”
projects will always be in our toolbox, but from time to time may need some oil,
a new co- chairman to learn the ropes from the tired but willing long time chairman, or just some time on the shelf. We have to measure, calculate, and re-evaluate the work that we do in our communities. We have to be sure we take time to find the right tools and the right materials to
complete the jobs we have chosen to do.
most of all, we must remember that our toolbox is only as effective as the people that are using the contents. We need to work together and share our plans and ideas. Read
the directions, match the tools to the task, and the workers to the tools. Together
we can build stronger clubs, and communities.
